• The Bristol City Council carers survey runs until 19th January. Bristol City Council, in partnership with carers, NHS and other organisations is updating its Carers Strategy and wants the views of carers across Bristol to help inform it. A carer is anyone who provides unpaid care for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health issue or an addiction, cannot cope without their support. According to the 2011 Census 40,100 carers live in Bristol, 9000 of those provide more than 50 hours of care a week. Other research suggests that there could be up to 7,600 further young carers in Bristol. The survey can be completed here until 19 January 2020.
