URC DEVELOPMENT WEST STREET BS3

In May 2026, planning permission for this project was granted. Pop back to this page to see developments as they happen – great news for the community as an accessible community space on the ground floor is part of the build.

West Street Neighbourhood Group submitted a proposal to Bedminster Property Partnership to secure funding for a feasibility study, in 2025. The study’s objective is to ascertain if a community space/hub in the former URC Hall on West Street BS3 is financially viable, wanted by the community and workable in terms of investment/return for the new owners.

Windmill Hill City Farm, the fiscal host for the Bedminster Property Partnership, advertised for a freelance consultant to deliver the brief. 16 applications were received and reviewed anonymously by the WOW Chair and Steering Group. Ruth Green was appointed. Ruth is a BS3 resident, community activist, and freelance community development practitioner specialising in projects in the BS3 postcode area.

Bedminster Property Partnership (BPP) is funding the study. BPP aims to unlock unused high-street buildings for brilliant local ideas and community use or ownership.
